Back pain is the leading cause of absence from the workplace. The cost of back pain ranges from $50 billion to $100 billion a year. Approximately 80% of the population will experience back pain at some time in their life, and it can affect anyone from children, to adults, and seniors.

The spine is made up of 24 vertebrae between your skull and your pelvis.  Each vertebrae is cushioned from the next by a disk. With injury a person may experience pain at night or in the morning, constant or periodic pain, pain that shoots down one or both legs. Your back pain may be described as tight, stiff, sore, burning, throbbing, stabbing, or pulling.  The pain may increase while bending, sitting, walking, or remaining in one position too long.

A combination of Chiropractic adjustments, Active Release Techniques, Electrical Muscle Stimulation, spinal stabilization exercises and stretches can greatly improve or resolve your problems completely. The patient must be actively involved in their treatment, just remember that the majority of people experiencing back pain are sedentary. Lying down and resting in most cases is not going to help resolve any back pain.

The Chiropractic adjustment can remove pressure that has built up between joints and free some restrictions in your spine. Active Release Techniques (ART) can break up adhesions and tension in the muscles of the spine, restoring resiliency to the tissue, thus allowing the muscle to contract and relax as it was made to do. We can incorporate the Accelerated Recovery Machine (ARP), the only electrotherapy device with the ability to immediately relax and elongate your muscles. You will then be shown how to perform specific strengthening and stretching exercises designed for resolution of your problem.  Continuation of these exercises periodically can prevent this problem from reoccurring.  Remember, once an area is injured, if not treated properly, it will be more susceptible to injury in the future.
